I'm tempted to call fake on that, but at the same time I think it's not.

Thought it was fake too at first but watched it a couple of times, absolutely amazing.

A Capri 3-litre would be struggling a bit by the three-quarter mark. Could always do a handbrake-turn and go back down tho.

It's climbing a 45 degree hill can't most "real" 4x4 do this?

That does look a pretty impressive, but I think it's probably only 45degrees and some clever camera work to give the impression of something more extreme. Saying that, the HDC does seem to be struggling a bit.

You're quite right....given the car in that video is essentially a Discovery in all but name!

I've just swapped the other half's Mini JCW for a Range Rover Sport (as you do smile) and have to concur that they're amazing beasts. I honestly don't know how they make something that heavy, that is able to pull stunts like in the video, articulate it's wheels in angles that should be possible yet on tarmac drive like a very good 'proper' car. OK, the fact it weighs 2,500kg isn't anything to shout about but the way they've got round this 'problem' is great feat of engineering. The thing actually handles well and I still can't believe how little it rolls in bends (especially given it's like driving a 1st floor apartment compared to most of the things I'm used to!).

Whilst I don't mean to pee on your parade...

I've been driving for over 20 years and have never had to venture off the road so my sports cars seem far more suited / sensible / faster / economical / fun.

Granted if your house is at the top of a 45 degree mud track I can see a Land Rover would be handy.
