Both cars that I would really like to own (although haven't driven either). I've been keeping an eye on prices and suspect that nice examples of both have got as cheap as they are going to get and may even start to appreciate?

The TT has got more showroom appeal - I know the looks are Marmite but I love them and the interior, 4WD traction and turbocharged torque.

Although the Integra doesn't look as good inside and out, I get the feeling that's not really the point. However, they are rarer than the TT and a blast to drive from what I understand.

Any thoughts on either - what they're like to drive and live with and what your choice would be and why would be most welcome.

I've never been in a TT so can't comment on that, but I've had a DC2 now for nearly 6 years.

I love it and can't imagine ever selling it, I bought a VX220 last year and still kept it.

The engine is fantastic and makes a great sound when revving it hard.

The drive is very raw, but that is all part of the experience. The grip that it has is fantastic, especially with the LSD.

Mine has been really reliable apart from a clutch, but that lasted 100k.

What role will the car fill? Cruiser? Commuter? B-road blasting weekend toy?

My heart says DC2 all day, legend that it is, but if I was on a motorway commute every day that would soon dim my enthusiasm.

Of the two, I would only consider the Type R.
I prefer the looks a little but, much prefer the philosophy.
No understeer, raw motorsport inspired drivetrain and minimalist approach to packaging compared to a softer, understeer balanced style car.

TT's are horrible cars to drive.

The interiors are nice but thats about it.

Pretty bad to see out of, especially when pulling out from a junction, due to the high doors and the shape of the A pillar.

Handle pretty terrible too, just so much understeer and they don't feel like a drivers cars at all.

DC2 unless you cut hair.

Also I refuse to define TT as having "AWD" traction. It's got that wk Haldex system so it's 90% split to the front anyway.

DC2 for level of driving enjoyment but TT for wafting around in comfort, especially on long journeys. Although you can only realistically get 1 pal in a TT where as you can fit 3 of your pals in an Integra.

The 20vt in the TT is pretty deisel like in character so the two are quite extreme opposites. If you need to commute a decent distance then I'd probably go for the TT but if it's short distance or for fun then there'd be no contest.

TT, plus a few tweaks, 270 bhp is cheap and easy, 300 bhp plus is feasible, the handling can be improved so it is less FWD biased.

DC2 all the way, better looking, much much better to drive, better sounding, a proper classic and a true automotive legend.

The Audi looks ok'ish. And the motor can be tuned to make it quick and have a good HP advantage over the DC2. But it's not really a drivers car. I'd have said despite being coupes they are almost polar opposites.

I guess a good solution would be to buy a framed picture of the Audi so you can still look at it, but actually buy the Integra biggrin

I had a TT which I did love, part of me misses it as its a great all round car for what it is. Having never driven a Integra (Although I do think they would be good fun) I can't comment for them. The Audi has the best of both worlds with a bit of performance (easy to uprate as well) and some comfort it means long journeys are a pleasure yet short blats out at 77mph are still great fun. Go and drive them both and see what you prefer on the road. Only way to tell IMO! People will say they are horrible to drive but they really arn't as bad as people make out. I had great fun in mine and wouldn't mind a 240 at some point.

Some photos of mine, not to everyones taste I know but I liked it smile

If you do decide to get the Integra can you please promise not to tell everyone at any given opportunity how awesome it is, and that's it better than all the other cars ever manufactured?

For it's like choosing between a rock and a hard place with them. If I had a gun to my head I'd say TT.

Owned a DC2, used to drive a TT fairly regularly (father in-law's).

As already stated, they're very different cars. The TT is probably more suited to day-to-day use - more torque, more comfortable, nicer place to sit etc. - but it gets nowhere near the Integra for sheer driving enjoyment. The DC2 is all about great handling dynamics and feedback. If it was based purely on that, it would be the Integra hands-down, I found the TT boring by comparison.
