Cars we're supposed to like - but hate
Discussion
funny one this one for petrol heads - because in a way we're all interested in car culture, design, performance, technology and we can find interest in the strangest places... but there are some cars I just hate (but feel a bit embarrassed as we're 'supposed' to like them - these are:
All Jaguars, without exception, since the early 70's XJ6 - just so badly built, did nothing that the germans couldn't to better, then they started harking back to their past rather than doing what they had done brilliantly in the 50s and 60s - been breathtakingly innovative, progressive and building beautiful and relatively affordable cars... And, above all, what's so bloody awful is that vile beige leather/horrid wood combo they've patented. Old mens cars...
Ferrari Enzo - quick, yes, but just where's the elegance? Ugly as sin...
Veyron - so ugly, overblown... compared with the sublime and radical and intelligent F1
Pagani Zonda - tart's boudoir - just horrid in every way - a design crime...
Lots of others, I know. And of course, I'm delighted if everyone contradicts me - diversity is a good thing - but what are yours...?

BMW 520d's. Maybe it's just me but I cringe every time I see one, which is a lot.

I think you've missed the point of the topic... Since when are either of them cars PH'ers are supposed to like?billybob69 said:
Any bmw that people have to say m-sport after. It is a trim level..
I can only assume you've never driven one? The suspension makes a big difference to the car, and I wouldn't class that as trim personally. Some of the Zondas are lovely IMHO - others, as the OP states. But I'm enough of a lummox to not be able to decide what makes the difference!
The front 'cheese grater' grill of a Tuscan and rear of a T350. Just don't like the holes.
Ferrari F12 and California. Ugly.
Mclaren MP12-C (XYZetc). Boring looks, nothing new about the styling and named like a photocopier.
Mk3 MR2. No thanks.
The Merc SL-Gay (SLK). Just tries too hard to be the SLS.
The new Jag R with the strange body pack on it. Strange.
Lotus Evora - looks boring as hell except in two colour schemes (Green with yellow stripes, Red with a black roof).

Any BMW Mini. Hateful things.
While i agree they lack the charm of the original, once you've driven one you'll come around, i did for sure, lovely little karts they are, even if they look stupid in some cases.Mind you, i wont excuse the countryman/clubman/roadster/coupe on their looks, and the mk2 hatch also looks wrong compared to the mk1
