Test driving/inspecting insurance repaired car
Discussion
Good morning.
My car was hit/push along the road and didn't suffer too much damage but a few dents in the boot/rear panel and the usual scuff marks. It also felt 'loose' when I parked it up just after I was hit. The car has now been repaired but the company who repaired it got a bit funny when I mentioned test driving the car before handing over my excess and signing the paperwork. Apparently, the delivery driver is on a time schedule and it's not something they usually do.
Surely I am not wrong or awkward for wanting to test drive my own car to make sure I'm happy with the repairs? Pre-crash the car was in show room condition and there wasn't a peep from the suspension and I shouldn't settle for anything else imo.
Would you want to do the same or would you be confident enough of the repairs made by a 'approved' garage? Would an inspection be enough?
