Reasonable car hire - Europe
Discussion
Does anyone know a good link for cheap car hire in Europe for a few weeks. Needs to be Golf sized equivalent due to luggage and number of people.
Not fussed petrol diesel not actually what te car is provided it goes and does the job.
Location is Sofia.
So far for 2 weeks I'm seeing prices of min £500 is this usual prices or high prices?
Am considering if using taxis and paying for transfers private transfers v car hire? So far transfer is £120 return so that would leave £380 for taxi trips out ... That's quite a large number of trips ...

Just do some googling...;)
One site that I've used for cheap car hire is:
http://www.travelsupermarket.com/c/cheap-car-hire/
They were absolutely fine. A quick check for 2 weeks in Sofia, Bulgaria gives 200GBP for a 'Medium Family' class with Budget.
As an aside, last time I booked with budget they gave me an Skoda Octavia AWD instead of the focus I booked, so pretty generous.
EDIT: If the company is paying, I always go with Sixt. Not always the cheapest, but the best cars and service in my experience.

Used these http://www.rentalcars.com/ twice now - very cheap and no issues. They don't tell you which hire company you will get until you book, but it will be one of the big 6. In Switerland it was Alamo, and Ireland it was Budget.
http://www.carrentals.co.uk does much the same thing - lets you compare different providers in one go as well.
