How can that be an 8-second car when the faster time is closer to 9 seconds? Do rounding up rules not apply in motorsport or something?

I must say very impressive result from a 3.7l V6 Jap motor biggrin However these cars will cost £££ to maintain though.

Mightily impressed by the performance, mightily inimpressed that 8.9x = 8. It might be just the way drag guys talk speed, but i doubt it - 0-60 in 4.9s (my car) does not equal 0-60 in 4. Not that it matters - I kind of like my clutch, and a new one could fund 20+ trips to Bala...

Yup, to my knowledge it's drag speak talk. Such as "I can run an 8", rather than "I can run about an 8.52" or whatever.

This. It's just a convention that's been around in drag racing for years. "8.99" is an "8 second car" etc. It's just how it is.

Absolutely incredible! I wonder what the difference in time would be on a non-rubbered in drag strip.
