The Queen was just shown on the BBC News driving herself around today in her FFRR and she had some kind of bonnet mascot on it. Does anybody know what is was?

Thanks,
M

Just saw the clip - for some odd reason, I really like the idea of the Queen driving herself around in a RR

There is a video of the queen driving a 110 V8 Manual somewhere. She gives it the beans in places!

One of her favourite past-times by all accounts. There's a lovely video of her driving a Defender.

I work in a chinese take-away, and my Chinese colleagues were watching when this clip came on. They were gob-smacked that she would drive herself when she could use a lackey (so much for communism). But above all, they said "what about insurance?". Good point. I can only guess that the Royal Household has some sort of block policy covering all their vehicles, but they don't have registrations, so how does that work?

I should think that Liz has a Motor Insurance Bond.

Is that like "You're late, Mr.Bond"?

(I've just realised - her own cars are registered, it's only the State-owned ones that don't have a reg.)

All the Royals personal cars are registered and fully road legal. It is only the State cars that are unregistered.
