When you've had a little bit of a crap day, just getting in your own car and going for a drive is fantastic.

Even better when you find someone willing to play. Found a bloke in a 3 series that was being driven really well. Gave him a flash, overtook. He followed me onto some great roads, few overtakes and a thumbs up on parting ways. If you're a PHER then hello smile

Happy now.

It's always great to find someone else on a hoon willing to play keep up, or wanting you to keep up.

I got chased out of a carpark by a blacked out german vehicle of some sort, and it lasted for 10 minutes, blasting through the countryside at silly speeds at 2am.

I wasn't sure if he was just racing, or wanting to shoot me. Either way, I kept going. Never had so much adrenaline through my veins in my life, the feeling of glee when I lost him round the twisties was amazing.

In the future, if you see someone parked in a countryside garden centre car park in wistow, leicester, at 2am-Go reverse up to him, its worth it for a laugh wink

I think I interupted his dogging session, to be honest :haha:

Even when you haven't had a crappy day !

Had the chance to go on some drives recently just for the hell of it - the sort when you get to a T-junction and can't make up your mind which way to go - couple of weeks ago that resulted in 4 1/2 hours and 300kms covered.

Yesterday I went up to one of the national parks here in Malaysia, and the drive there / back was at least, if not more, enjoyable than the hiking in the park.

I've got a stty old 3 series, but it's brilliant fun to drive quickly (accepting it's no sports car...) and the roads over here can be surprisingly entertaining.

I went for a 85 mile drive this morning for the sake of it. Had a rough idea of where I wanted to go (Corfe, Lulworth, Swanage area). Just wish I left earlier as towards the end there was a fair bit of traffic (35 minutes to get onto the ferry back to Poole!).

Got a new job, delivery driver, so can use someone elses fuel for driving instead!

Is there any reason why someone who drives a 1.2 Corsa shouldn't be allowed to do this? We pay our road tax as everyone else does.

1) it's VED.
2) No there is no reason for a sensible 1.2 Corsa driver to be banned from fun. Only those who have slammed them or done well phat innit mods to them should be banned from a b-road thrash...

On the subject of having a play with other road users I remember one of my best drives was when I had my old mk2 jetta, I was out in a local nsl b road when I was joined by a Peugeot 309. For the next 10 miles we were absolutely hammering these cars it was like fire and ice there was nothing between them at all they were so evenly matched it was brilliant.
Plus the sight of a 309 with a humongous amount of body roll in your rear view mirror is a hilarious sight!

Correct!

Some of the best fun I had driving was my old Renault 19. Skinny/nankingafukaditch tyres and 'french' suspension. Great fun to hustle along in.

Recently had a play with a v6 4 motion golf.

I was surprised how quick it was. Good thumbs up at the end of a very speedy blat.

Had a 182 roll up behind me the other day on the drive home from work. Had a spirited fifteen minutes or so and he was glued to me on the roundabouts. I think RenaultSport drivers just have an unwritten rule that when they bump into each other they have a little hoon.

Where did I say that they shouldn't be allowed?

I should have been more clear, it's the local rudeboy bonnet bra patrol that glue themselves to my back bumper until I leave them behind that I don't understand!

I don't mean to tarnish all Corsa owners with the same brush, though it may have looked like it hehe

Was in wife's Micra last week, west coast of Scotland, narrow single-track road with blind bends about 10 miles. Was trying quite hard with the 998 although still keeping things safe as its my wife's car, but got totally wasted by a local Mercedes Sprinter van, some really really impressive driving there.

Ever seen a medium-wheelbase Mercedes Sprinter driving sideways???? Not just once, it was on nearly every corner. Had it drifting like a Mk2 Escort rally car. Am glad I wasn't coming the other way.

The weather looks good for tomorrow, I'm off work and have a day to kill, best of all I have North Wales on my doorstep!

So it's going to be roof off and a few hours over at the evo triangle!

Probably a few beers when I get back as well!

Vs a celica in my mcs. Was fun.
And a vx220 in my cayman, until he got away and I narrowly avoided a a camera van at instant ban speeds.

Both great experiences, with each of us giving the othe space and respect.
