Thinking of buying one of these

Anyone had any experience of these? Thanks in advance.

I don't have one of those but am pleased with my hitachi SDS drill & router. They appear to be well made and have handled all the abuse I have given them.

I've been using one for the last year for work and it has never let me down. In fact I prefer it to my last couple of drills, which were Makita.

2 ways of looking at this... you pay lots and expect it to last OR you buy cheap from B&Q and if it breaks outside the 12 month warranty ( where you get a new one free ) you just buy another!
In my experience buy good quality! even if it costs more.

I've owned a few Hitachi drills and they have given great service. Well worth the money

I own this drill and it is the best small battery drill I've ever owned and I've owned a few. Properly good all rounder...

I had the ni-cad one, biggest pile of crap ever! lasted 15 mins till the batteries went flat. Not good on a building site!

I bought a makita LXT set, best for the money! lasts a day on one charge now

I've purchased 5 or 6 of these for my lads at work, the only complaint so far is the battery capacity is a little small.

A very good buy or £99.

Awful drill

Fails more times than it works
Customer service is awful, have to send it away for 2 weeks to be fixed
What am I meant to do without it?

Go makita

I have their sds hammer drill, top bit of kit. I also have this cordless drill, nice combi drill/ driver. It's the cheapest li-ion drill I can find and the battery lasts forever. I did a whole day drilling and driving for my decking and I drained one and a half batteries. It takes 45mins to charge one, so you'll never be out of power

Their corded stuff is great, cordless stuff is crap IME. I've replaced my 5 year old Makita 14.4v(which is still working) with an 18v Makita, was £89 in B&Q. There is an advert in on the top of my screen telling me it is £99 in Screwfix.

Had an 18v Hitachi in an old job a few years ago and both batteries gave up the ghost in less than a year.

Used a lot of Hitachi power tools in my bricklaying days, they were all great.

Only Hitachi tool I've got is a jigsaw - I like it - it seems very well made and it's easy to use. I can't imagine that the drills are any different, so I guess that's a thumbs up from me!

Got that actual drill and works great for home. Replaced a dewalt which had come to the end of its life and cant fault it for the money. In fact my mate has nicked it tonight to use for making some garden benches as he liked it more than his cordless drill and cant afford to replace it with a hitachi. We hand out hitachi tools to my engineers at work ( heavy duty stuff) and no quibble on it not being a makita etc.

My brother is a kitchen fitter, his tools are his living and only uses makita or dewalt based on reliability and lifespan.

I had the small corded grinder, they don't last very long under extreme use, now have a Milwaukee which I have never heard off but it seems to be taking a good beating.

I Personally think Makita have gone down the pan ,they seem a bit cheap these days.

Good (I have that drill) but.... the chuck shaft bearing is a bit floppy.
With my Site/Makita there is zero slop (body to chuck) whereas on the Hitachi there is quite a bit.

The rest of it is fab though and I still use mine.
