There are worse things to be driving around in.

I can still remember a family holiday were My father hired a Sierra estate and was given and Astra estate, the justification? "Well they're all the same aint they."

You are absolutely right, it wasn't actually bad in any way. But it's not the premium brand I paid a (suspiciously small), er, premium for.

In Avis terms at Nice a 7 seater Espace equivalent was a Zafira. Not happy as there were 6 of us plus luggage - and Zafira's are rubbish.

It was the only time that my non-french helped. "No" I said followed a barrage of French. "No" I said again with a shrug of the shoulders, followed by another barrage - you get the general idea.

Ended up with a Grand Voyager, which was apparently a free upgrade - not bad coming up to Monaco and Cannes week.

As far as I am concerned a Hyundai is every bit as good as a Volvo.

They excite me exactly equally as a driving/ownership proposition.

Fair point, but I was looking forward to the fabled Volvo seats. And the V70 is on the cards at some point due to the sheer volume of progeny we have (Norbert, just worked out what you're saying tongue out)

I was about to mention seats. The i30 is pretty basic in that department is the i40 any better?

They were adequate, better than the SMax we had which are notoriously firm, but no more than adequate.

V40 is a Focus at the end of the day & the i40 is a damn good car by any means of measure & they are designed by European engineers too.
