I had a GSI, my 2nd car, I loved it, wish I never sold. There are a lot of naysayers but it's good fun and can carry a lot. Don't put cheap tyres on it, very bad choice that one!
EDIT - SRI I had - 2.5 engine, really was a hoot too drive, wouldn't have called the ride harsh.

Seller claims it returns better mpg than his 1.7 Puma...

A 2.5 V6 Vectra averaging 35-37 mpg? (That's what I used to get out of my Puma - mixed driving)
Either his Puma is utterly borked, the Vectra has a different engine to what it says in the ad, or the seller is stretching the truth a little...

I had one from new, star silver 4 door, W551 NNP, 2000 to 2003.
It was quick enough, looked good, well equipped, reasonable failsafe handling.
Beyond that, though, it had a certain something. Hand-fettled engine, camshafts from the 3.0 litre Omega, touring car looks, GSi embroidered seats. It was a bit, well, special, especially from a mainstream manufacturer.
I've been lucky enough to have some decent metal since - S2000s, Mk IV and V R32, S3, and I've still got a soft spot for the GSi. Always point one out to Mrs van Guy if we see one, which we don't very often, nowadays.
Buy it!

HATE ADVERTS WRITTEN FULLY IN CAPITAL LETTERS. Plus as said the performance figures he gives, seem very optimistic and the price is a little high in my opinion.
The Rover 600 Turbo had 200BHP and had a quoted top speed of 142MPH. Would love to know where he's getting his other 18MPH from.

Generally achieved round a speed-sapping high speed bowl. Does anyone really care that it runs out of steam at 150mph when you just paid £1000 for it. What complainers we are....
I think they are great (see my first post) I was just posting the official figures as the figures in the ad were questioned.

I could get 160 mph if I folded the seats down.

ETA: Just out of curiousity how much are the Mondeo ST200's going for now? As far as I can remember the Mondeo equivilents were always considered better than the Vectra's.

More likely is he ragged the tits off the Puma and got 25-30mpg but has driven the Vectra a lot more sedately and has seen 30+.
