Afternoon All,

As its sunny and London is extremely quiet at the minute thought i'd share a weekend of my life which i will never forget!

Mrs Matt35 publishes her own magazine and was contacted by Ferrari. Skipping one million steps in the interim, on Friday 28th July, my partner, I and our two children headed to Ferrari North Europe in Slough to collect our FF.

I was to be driver for the three days that we had the car and i can honestly, i was more excited about what was going to happen in the next 1000 miles then seeing my kids walk for the first time!!

The whole experience was incredible, our particular FF has been specified with a few "nice" extras - Special Paint, 20 inch wheels, carbon ceramic brakes, sports exhaust, full media centre (dvd players for the children), this list went on and on until you'd spent......£272,436.00 WOW!!!

We set off from Slough, to the West Mids (leave the kids at the grandparents), then up to the Lake District, before returning the the West Mids (Sunday), heading to the Cotswolds and finally back to Slough on Monday.

So Friday Slough - This is the moment, the PR rep hands me the bright red key and says have fun.... The kids are in and dvd players on, the luggage is in and the Mrs is in.....I settle down behind the wheel looking at copious amounts of tan leather and carbon fibre trim. Insert the key, press the brake pedal and push the start button, a six ltire V12 roars into life and our adventure begins!

Thouhgt i'd keep this short and sweet and lets the pics talk......

I look forward to the next time we are lucky enough to have an opportunity to do this again, perhaps the California??

Pics below - (There's a few)

Well done you've successfully told us virtually nothing about your impressions of the car. Let's hope your OH's journalistic skills outstrip your own biggrin

Oh and by the way, you lucky lucky ********

I am of course teasing, but did feel fast, did it ride well or feel too stuff, could you get in it and drive fast immediately, or was it the sort of car which is intimidating and you had to work up to exploring its potential, etc.?

You must have some thoughts on how it drove.

After re-reading i have missed a fair amount of my post...

So to answer:

Fast - Yes, 7 speed auto and it pulled like a train in any gear, 30mph quickly becomes mach 1... On a serious note, the power delivery was immense. Whether that be cruising and making a mundane overtake on the motorway, or making progress on an A road, a couple of pulls on the paddle and you quickly have a huge smile!!

The Ride - Excellent GT car, motorway cruising was so effortless... Normal driving conditions, towns etc, the 7 speed box struggled to decide what gear it wanted, meaning you went for the paddles and that meant being in 3rd or 4th most of the time....Oh the noise!!

I've not driven any car like this, but from the minute i sat in it you knew you were going to be looked after. At no time did i feel scared, overwhelmed etc... It was/is a very easy car to drive. The only thing that suprised were the carbon ceramic brakes - wow, if you want to stop and stop quickly these things are incredible!

Ferrari PR built this up as a family run around car and to be honest, it does just that, but without losing the Ferrari experience...now where can i get the best of £300k??
