I always thought binis were over-priced but I can't quite believe this one:

http://www.pistonheads.co.uk/sales/4170116.htm

38k spent not including the car is hard to believe, but maybe it's possible when you see some of the prices paid in that list..

- 1100 for a 4 pot exhaust (+125 for a tail pipe)
- 1600+ for suspension
- 245 for some brake pads
- 2226 for four Toyo tyres, wtf?

I think someone got properly tucked up on some of those purchases confused.

Surely that means 4 sets of T1R's which would be about £140 a corner

I agree though, seems like he's been playing real life GT5

I was getting excited because I thought someone had done this to a classic mini and that it was going to be the dogs bks.

Instead, just bks.

laugh

I was expecting something like 18" or 19" R888s or R1-Rs. Not T1-Rs. I got change from £300 for my 15s, I can't see why 17s were that expensive?
What the hell? Where did he get them, the most expensive tyre shop in the world? The last time I bought Toyo 888's I bought a pair of 315/35's and had change from £700

I hate minis anyway, well the big BMW ones. Always amazes me how they've managed to make a car so big on he outside so small on the inside.

Lot of money for tyres.

As for this or a Porsche they probably spent 38k over a period of time.

Whereas the porker would be an instant hit.

It seems a starter motor is on the options list (£146.71)?!

Does a standard S use a crank handle?

There are some severely shakey numbers on that price sheet, either that or he really got his pants pulled down on numerous items and their fitting.

Definately. Some are par for the course, e.g. DS2500 pads all round for £236 is about right but the T1-Rs for £2200, well that's just pure fantasy. £1000 for some second hand refurbished OZ "Ultralegger" alloys seem a bit steep as well scratchchin

If it's the sellers hobby and he had fun doing it, what difference does it make to us? Whoever buys the car will get a clean example and money spent on it!

I have modified every car i've owned (not £30000+ mind you) and spend silly amounts on cars whilst knowing fine well that i wont get the money back!

I do agree however that the £38000 spent, can't really be seen on the outside...unless its got mega bhp.......
