How can two people be charged with dangerous driving when only one car was involved?

They name each other as the driver? Charge both in the hope / expectation that one will be dropped and the real driver will be prosecuted. And I seem to remember that law was changed slightly so you can be in the car and prosecuted and not actually be the driver... wasnt some dizzy bint charged not so long ago, as she had "egged on" the driver to race through some town streets which ended up in the death of an innocent pedestrian.

A classic example is where you have a learner driver on provisional licence accompanied by an older driver with a full licence.

Another example would be driver with no licence, passenger with licence.

Probably true and exactly the sort of thing that is wrong with modern law. your first answer is fair enough and would make sense but the second.

If I tell someone to do something and they do it then that's not my fault, as my Dad used to say when I was a kid "If I told you to put your head in the oven you wouldn't do would you?!"
