Well, this is my first post but I had to talk to some fellow PHs. Basically I just bought a 996 turbo yesterday, the car of my dreams. This one is immaculate, amazing just incredible. When I went to collect it and I saw it for the first time I thought I was going to be sick - no joke!
When I'm driving it I'm just full of adrenalin, I grind my teeth just driving at normal speeds.

I feel like I want to sell it, I just don't think I can handle owning such an amazing car.

And it's worth pointing out that I'm not a kid, I'm 37 and I've owned a Fireblade so it's not just the sheer speed of the thing, it's the whole package. It's totally not how I was expecting to feel, but there it is.

Anyway just had to get that off my chest, anyone else ever felt like that?

I felt like that when I first got my Tuscan - couldn't quite believe it was mine. This was coupled to the fact that every time I drove it was terrifying (as I was clueless) and the Tuscan was never reknowned for being a forgiving car.

Get out and put some miles on, you'll settle down smile

I think it's to do with it being beyond your wildest dreams but always being haunted by the responsibility of owning such a car and the potential costs of running and repairing it.

I always find that you have to be comfortable with the idea of it breaking before you can truly enjoy a car which is why I drive cars I know won't break me.

It's weird, I never thought I would feel like this, I have owned fast cars on and off ever since I could drive, I had a Sierra Cosworth when I was 21 which was brilliant.

My wife thinks I'm mental, I can see that some of you guys think I am too. Maybe I am!

I'm not worried about it breaking at all, in fact I find it hard to describe. Anyway, maybe I'll settle down after I've driven it a bit more. I live down south and bought it up north so I have driven it all the way down here.

The other thing is it's so incredibly fast, where can you even boot it apart from on a track, it's devastatingly fast, it has a Tubi exhaust so it also sounds like a Nascar. This morning the road went from a 30 to aa 70 so I floored it and all the cars around me just went backwards, it was like the Enterprise.

A photograph of a random Porsche Turbo does not prove a thing.

We need custard.

If you can actually find Birds Eye custard, this thread is going legendary. If not Birds will do.
