ECp are currently doing 30% off oil and are stocking their own brand of the above fully synthetic 5w30 oil. There is one specifically for VAG applications which meets 504/507 standards.

The price is pretty good at £27.85 for 5 litres. This is significantly cheaper than Quantum LongLife III which is currently £37 plus vat for 5 litres.

Does anyone have any experience of using this oil. There are whispers it is actually made by Castrol?

Isn't Castrol Magnatec synthetic? £17.50 in Halfords for 4 litres at present.

Thats a good price for the Castrol but it doesn't specifically state that it meets the VW 504/507 spec. For my S6, I think I would have to go for the Castrol Edge which is a lot more expensive. Even so, I might pick up some of the Magnatec for my dad's TDCI Mondeo.

Not sure what it's like but Amazon do Mobil 3000 for about £23 for 5 litres (made by Comma it says) and deliver it free. Amazon are quite good for oil when it's on offer and free delivery.

Mobil-Exxon Corp own Comma (and I guess there's other more expensive mobil oils that are comma too?)
