Car tax

Hi, I bought a cheap runaround and taxed the car online in order to drive it home from a private buyer, we agreed that when the tax turns up at his house he would forward to me, he claims it has turned up and he has sent it. That was 2 weeks ago and it hasn't turned up. Is there anyway I can get another, I'm starting to think he has sent it back to dvla to claim it back. What can I do?

Could always do a quick search online on the reg no and see if it is still legally taxed, not sure how often they update those things

Yeah still shows as being taxed,
