Looking for a cheap to buy, cheap to run car for a bit so that I can save up and buy something better in a couple of months.

Must be cheap to fuel/tax/insure
Must be less than £1000
No bigger than a focus

I have been looking at Pug 306 deisels, Ford Focus, Polos, Ibizas, fiestas etc.

What else should I consider??

What kind of distance will you be doing in it?

If cheap is the main criterium, a pug 106 will probably save up more then a 306, and unless you have a long daily commute, will do just fine.

I actually sat in a 106 the other day and quickly decided that I couldn't drive one as being 6 foot 4 my knees were to high up either side of the steering weel lol!

For £1k I would be looking at something Jap. Almera or Civic?
