Car Dealers Saturday
Discussion
Right - my mate and I have decided to spend Saturday having a drive around car dealers in search for some new wheels for him - currently he is in a Porsche - but nothing is ruled out, well nothing good.
Any good tips - we are starting in St Albans
I'm thinking of
RPM
then down to Maranellos
probably nip in Jag and Land Rover in Guildford
maybe Fernhurst for TVR
any other good tips for tasty car viewing?

I think you may need to define a budget. Maranellos being top end Italian vs Fernies and much cheaper TVRs...
Castle sports cars in Stansted though would be a good shout.
Yeah budget would stretch to a 360, but not 430 or a Masser. So Maranellos would be top end of budget to be fair.......but why not - it is a nice place to visit Castle sports cars in Stansted though would be a good shout.

From St Albans no need to go to Guildford for Jag / RR, go to the large Jag / Range Rover dealer on the Bath Road in Slough (5 mins from J6 M4) as its then only 10-12 minutes from there to Maranello in Egham ...... also the Bath Road has a large MB dealer 2 minutes from the Jag / RR one if he wants to look at sporty Mercs ...Any good tips - we are starting in St Albans

Just to add in... it will be worth planning where you are going to, and try to make appointments. Nothing worse than driving a long way, only to find everyone is either busy, not in the office, the car you want to see is not available etc etc etc...
Don''t be silly, the salesmans thread has taught us they love the impromtu in for a gander punter ...

ah, yep - good call, I forgot. They are near my BMW service place.
I've never been in, just walk in and have a look is it?
All the cars are immaculately presented, and open... they're quite happy to leave you alone and let you pour over them. Especially if you pull up outside in something suitably expensive I've never been in, just walk in and have a look is it?

If you are going to Fernies, Roman's isn't far off the route. Linky
More unaffordable metal for most of us, than you can shake a stick at.

In fairness - i've had several Caterhams, so could probably skip that one!
