Juddering/Missing at 2k rpm - any gear

Ideas? Its my stter which to be honest is proving quite fun run around, but its missing badly when accelerating around the 2k rpm mark and watching the rpm needle its jumps rather than smoothly going up.
Worse when cold.
I have replaced the plugs (due anyway) and the MAF as most on the npoc forum recommended this fix it, but nope, still st.

ECU fault?

So what else could it be? Someone suggested stretch timing chain....

ah yea, possibly, but my old astra had this go and was in limp mode. guess this should do the same?

would it be worth hooking it up the a diagnostic machine? think its got odb2 connector.

Primeras had crank sensor issues iirc..

where and what are these?

lambda sensor will be in downpipe and throttle position sensor is in engine compartment attached to inlet manifold.

Easiest solution to check lambda sensor is to unplug it and go for a drive and see if the problem goes away.
