I assume you've not been to St Ives? Parking is truely awful there, with only recently, one of very few car parks being converted to housing! You can wait for a parking space for over two hours in peak season.

It's a beautiful place to visit all year round, hence the property prices. You'll find a large percentage of homes are holiday lets and due to the notorious parking issues, a property with parking will always be highly sought after, so could be seen as an investment, with the option to sell-on in a few years time anyway!

You've never attempted to park in St. Ives I take it?

Is that the one at the top of the hill? Probably not a very helpful description. We used to go on family holidays to St Ives when I was younger and always had to park up there and walk back down into the town. If that's gone it must be truly shocking now.

The big car park overlooking St Ives was still there last September. Last time we went we stayed in Carbis Bay. You can the train for something like £2 return if you want to be lazy and not walk.

Presumably the town has some sort of park-and-ride, or something... sounds a bit hideous but surely knowing how bad it is, you just wouldn't waste the time trying.
