It is that time of year again when two numbers mark out the age of a new car and make those other cars look old and dated. wink

So for the first few days it is still quite novel (for me) to spot the new plates and normally a happy looking owner driving a brand-new immaculate car before they become the norm.

So this thread is for people to post the cars that they see wearing these plates and to see if anyone spots anything interesting. smile

I'll be picking mine up on September 1st, Panther Black Fiesta Metal, I'll be sure to stick some pics up smile

I've been seeing 62 plates on the road (albeit in trade plates) for almost a month!

I went to the local VW dealer the other day and saw a fair number of 62 plates about. It also reminded me that the Passat CC is a lovely looking car and the new Beetle looks dreadful - especially in hearing aid beige.

My mates wife is getting a 62-plate Citroen C1.

I've yet to see one. Mind you I never have properly got my head round the "new" system, so if I wasn't thinking about it I wouldn't have known that 62 was the new one.

I believe they've dropped the Passat name from the new CC.

Ordered the wife a new car about 3months ago, said that i would wait until first of september to get the new 62 plate. few calls to dealer about progress, all on track. Then two weeks ago car will not be ready until 20th October!

To cut a long story short - they are supplying a car until mine is ready.

The only reason to order a new car is to get the new plate and get all the options. It was the options that made it late.

I'm in a very similar boat, but they refuse to provide me with a car. Unimpressed.

Just 20 minutes ago I saw a new 6 Series convertable in white, parked up. Compared to the previous generation it is an unsightly beast. A mashed up rear end and my 12 year old, holey MX5 soft top looks better!

Agree they are a big beast but it's in another league to an mx5 surely?

By design, but I thought the appearance of it looked gash hehe Probably just me! (The soft top i'm on about) The car is several leagues above the MX5 of course!

It's a bonkers system as it makes car seem to age twice as fast.

I reckon new car sales would be decimated if they did away with it though.
