05 Suzuki Swift Car Lock Icon on dash!

Hi, I have a problem with a 05 Suzuki Swift the car lock light is flashing on the dash, so the car will not start!

Does anyone know how this problem can be solved at all, any help will be appreciated.

Have you tried the spare key?

Is yours a keyless model?

If so I suspect a duff battery in the fob.

IIRC you can also unclip a real key from the keyless fob and put it in the ignition and start normally.

May also be that the fob is too far away - try holding it really close to the dash (then get a new battery).

No the car is not keyless entry thanks for the help though. Its my brother's car and he is away so don't know of a spare key. From searching on google though it does look like the problem is key code related.
