Is there a better all rounder for 20k than an Audi TTS?

- Can pick 58/59 plate ones up for around 20k now so reasonably new cars
- 270bhp, 0-60 in around 5.5 seconds
- 4wd (well, quattro)
- amazing interior (imo) and also look amazing too (imo)
- quite practical with a large boot and 2 tiny back seats (Which being very short myself would be big enough for someone i'm sure) but not so practical that it becomes a huge car.
- good on fuel when it needs to be (40mpg achievable on a run according to owners forum)
- reasonable costs for tyres, insurance, servicing etc.

Is there anything else out there that can achieve that blend of all roundedness for the money?

I know there are alot of VAG haters on here because they are all so similar etc but I cannot come up with a better car to spend my money on than this right now that truely meets what I would consider to be the perfect all round car for the average person.

Cheers

Seems pretty decent, are they the 5-pots?

Is an all rounder not something a little bit bigger, like an S4 for £20k?

I think that's closer to the mark; two doors and cramped rear seats will always count against the TT as a true all-rounder...

40mpg sounds optimistic.

Best I've had fill to fill is 37-38. Although that was with the roof down so might have hurt the aerodynamics.

An Audi TTS - Is you gay? For a woman its the perfect all-round car maybe. But seriously for 20k there are faster, more practical and better looking cars - e.g. M3's, M5's, rs4's, s6's, clk63's, cls55's, maserati 4200's, jag xkr's, 996tt's, etc

Not saying it's my choice by the way, I just plucked something from the Audi range.

Mine either - E39 M5 for me (albeit probably coming up short on the running cost criteria!) smile
