Hi all, does anyone know any websites that have a list of regulations about land ownership? My mother is on a mission to buy some land to stick a caravan on but is concerned about the do's and don'ts.

Thank you in anticipation of your humerous replies and info.

Thanks there is already a caravan on the land but the land is all overgrown and the caravan is falling apart. So maybe if the powers that be already know then it'll be an easy transition to put a new one on it.

More informatiuon needed.

Parking a caravan in the garden of your house is one thing; parking a caravan on a new "caravan site" is quite another. Check out Planning as others have said.

Just because there is a caravan there is no guarantee. What is the new caravan to be used for? If it is for any kind of residential or holiday use then I foresee failure.

The fact that there is an old falling to bits caravan means nothing. Now if someone had lived in that caravan for more than 10 years, it's another story!

Land Registry to find out who owns the land. The Planning Dept to deal with the planning issues.
