something interesting for under £2k

My bike is going to be sold, so I need something to get me to work and keep me interested while I am without one (I don't like being without a bike, but needs must).

So seeing the worst of the weather is ahead, I am considering a classic WRX or Legacy to tinker with, a V6 Citroën XM auto barge, Xantia Activa, big Volvo or a semi capable 4x4.

What can else could I get for my budget? I need 4 seats at a minimum. Would a Classic Rangie on LPG be reliable enough?

Classic impreza is s good call. I bought a 6-month old golf r32 in nov 09 and then a few weeks later I bought a 9@ impreza 2000 turbo for 1400. After a few days I realised that I preferred the Subaru in every way to the gf and I had just pissed 24k up the wall.

A good one, even a basic uk 2000, is a great thing to drive.

I'd look at either the impreza, or some kind of 'unfashionable' BMW with a big petrol six.
330/328i four door saloon for example.
