Cheap and nasty UK spec

I started a thread a while back about why our indicator/wiper stalks are the 'wrong' way around. In the end its this way as it's cheaper than manufacturing bespoke parts and we just live with it.

What other things do we live with and nit even question it?

One I seem to remember is UK Peugeot 206 pedal boxes are just left and drive ones with bars going across! Apparently easily damaged by a passengers feet.
