I'm not sure if I can name them!

I want to get the brake pads replaced all round on my Focus ST and I haven't got the time or space to do it myself so it's going to have to be a garage job. I've done a quick (Kwik?) check with a local nationwide company that provides this service but they don't have my particular pads in as they're uprated from the normal Focus ones.
If I get the pads myself and take them and the car to this company will they fit them? Or should I just take it to the local Ford stealers and let them supply and fit them?

Just buy your own and pet them fit them, probably cheaper and you can pick the pads you want then.

If you had the time shout help and a local PH will probably show you how to fit them

I could get both sides done in an hour unless something bites me on the bum

Local independent. I bought a full set of Green Stuff for my ST and got them to fit them and change the brake fluid at the same time. I could have done this myself but really don't have the time.

Find a decent local independent garage.

Try that website, see if you can find somewhere local.
This.

The quick fit type places will fit at best OEM quality parts but probably lower quality parts. The workers there are trained to swap parts - not as full mechanics so might not do things lke cleaning the calipers and greasing the pads to prevent them squeeling. Just like a dealer won't!!

And these claims would be substansiated by what evidence? Or just conjecture.

Pure prejudice and hearsay. This is the internet.

I know how to fit them, I usually do mine that's why I'm unsure what these nationwide companies will or won't do. I just haven't got the time - I'm working 12 hour shifts at the moment, which are more like 14 hour shifts once the travelling has been done. I'm just too knackered to be bothered with wheel on, pads out, pads in, wheel on x 4.
An indy sounds good.

You may get some recommendations if you say where you are.

I'm in Ilford. The Good Garage Scheme link put up earlier has helped me though as a good one seems to be just around the corner.

Being serious, I've had an alloy damaged by a high street fitter - they denied it was thm and then eventually paid up for a refurb; my wife had a flat outside a high street fitter (with an 18month old in the car at the time) and they wouldn't squeeze her it to repair it, forcing her to change the wheel herself; Watchdog did a piece about one of them having targets to meet and so making out dampers and brakes needed replaced when they were fine.

I use them as I have a co. car but would much prefer to use a good Indy.

On the flip side, I once had a flat in Norwich and the Kwik Fit there were excellent!
