Working on the basis that our cars were actually meant to be driven, be it on the track or on the road, rather than just polished and admired (though I do that also) I am embarking on a trip in my 1973 Daytona down to Florence, Italy.

I will be keeping a blog and if anyone is interested they can follow my progress. I was thinking it might be useful, I can always send for help!

The trouble with driving all the way is France!
I love France but when heading for Italy it is just a lot of miles.
AND I really fancy trying the train for a change.
I reckon it'll save 500 miles, it is a 200 mile drive to the train from Calais, so all in all still a pretty good run.

Good on you! Just make sure you get off the train at the start of the Alps, route Napolean would really suit somethiong like a Daytone, twisty but fast flowing and not too narrow.
BTW - you have probably one of my all time favourite cars so to say I'm jealous is an understatement, enjoy it and post some pics, especially of the car smile

That there is my first lottery win car. Spectacular. I cannot adequately convey my jealousy which is only tempered by my wanting to read about this planned road trip. smile

That would indeed be a good start paperbag but will look forward to some during the trip....
