Weird Numberplate

Saw a number plate with a strange format the other day, something like 268D327.

Can't remember the exact numbers and letters but it was three numbers, one letter and another three numbers. Does anyone know what this was? The plate looked a standard British yellow colour so didn't appear foreign.
