wewillbuyyourcar.com - experiences?
Discussion
We are trying to shift my OH's car and this website has made a much better offer than dealers/westealanycar.com, pretty much the same amount we would expect for a private sale and apparently no transaction fees etc... but I've never really heard of them. Anyone on here dealt with them?
Used them once, gave me a decent value on my 1er but then tried to knock £300 for a small scratch that I'd already declared (without the declaration the price would have been £300 higher again). It's pretty much the same experience as with webuyanycar and their ilk. Book a viewing, get knocked off money for the smallest things, then get stung with an admin charge to give you your own money.

They'll offer you an attractive price and then when they inspect the car, they'll play hardball. Some might say it's unethical, to me it seems a fair enough tactic. I don't think they'll necessarily 'rip you off' any more than a normal trade-in with a dealer might, so long as you bear in mind you're selling the car in an easy way to a company that will transfer the funds immediately. You're effectively paying for an easy sale, if you want rid of it and aren't too fussed on what price you get then I'd say do it. If you want more money and probably more faffing about and more stress, put it on Autotrader.
