Chevrolet Comodoro in Brazil

I saw this beauty in Rio last week, badged as a Chevrolet Comodoro. I tried wikipedia which seems to suggest this may have been a 3 door estate based on the Opel Rekord dating back as far as 1968. This one had lots of plastic and the dashboard looked a bit 80's Vauxhall Carlton.

Just out of curiosity does anyone know anything more about these?

Had to check wiki to make sure it wasn't! I thought it had a hint of Vauxhall Viva about it too. I wasn't inspired to try and buy and import one!
