If this is fully accurate, there's 67 on the roads.

If this is just "currently taxed", then roughly half are parked up somewhere.


Of those small numbers, I guess they've all decided that their cars are worth a fortune, despite not really impressing anyone when they came out. If all of the owners decide they wouldn't sell for less than 100K, then I guess that's the price you'd have to pay.

Personally, I'd have thought around 30-40k would be more suitable, and even then there would be many better options to spend your money on.

I just can't see the appeal, they look ugly and like a distant relation to a FIAT Barchetta to me.

I don't know if that means that 52 of them have been crushed, exported or what ... possibly a mixture of the two, with some stolen and/or crashed, rather than broken because they were worn out I'm sure.

Not so much of a distant relation, I believe Chris Bangle is the father of both.

There's one of these living near me & it's a beautiful car.

Personally, I think the price of these will continue to rise:-

(a) It's a very rare & handbuilt car

(b) Like the best classics, it's aging fantastically well. At 10 years old, that particular car looks extremely fresh & I would bet it will still look great in another 10 years.

If I get lucky on tuesday (must remember to get a ticket!) one of these would be very high on the list for me.

If I was a betting man, I wouldn't bet against BMWs Z3 M Coupe increasing in value either.

Lovely cars. Ive been watching the prices of these cars creep up over the last few years. Quite a good investment if you bought one a few years ago

chris bangle? that's pretty interesting. the z8 is a masterpiece IMO.
his z4 was pretty lame by all accounts but if Bangle was responsible for both it seems his design prowess went AWOL on the 4.

I doubt this one was £50k though. It has only done 1,400 miles so it is highly likely it was bought as an investment and not used. The £50k ones are *only* about £100k now
