Chaps,

Boss has got a 2007 Jaguar XK and is having issues with the remote open key fob. He has two of these keyfobs, the battery ran out on one a while back & he started using the 2nd one, and now that battery has gone too. He has replaced both batteries in the keyfobs but now the car won't recognise either of the keyfobs.

The car has a slot in the centre console where the fob slots in, the boss said the key normally 'clicks' into place before the car can be started but neither key is clicking into place.

Jaguar dealership have said the car needs to be recovered back to their premises and a new keyfob supplied & programmed, which is also complicated by the fact that the car is inside the bosses garage, in park mode and isn't going to be easy to remove!

Keyfob was working ok on Friday evening, boss went to start the car on Saturday morning and realised there was an issue - recovery back to the Jaguar garage + replacement of the keyfob therefore seems a bit extreme.

Any suggestions?

Ta!

Sorry for the thread bump, would appreciate any opinions/experiences/expertise before the boss goes to the expenses of getting the car recovered.

Is there an arming/disarming alarm button on the keyfob. I had to insert the key/keyfob into it's usual hole and press and hold the button for it to recognise each other. It was with a different manufacturer of car but it might be the same for the Jaguar.
