Why did the marked police Astra drive 18 miles down the M4 tonight at 76 mph, should be a law against it! That's all.

Or maybe 6.

Anyway OP what exactly is the problem? Did you break the law for 18 miles?

because if they drive at 70, it causes a huge backlog as nobody will overtake, so they tend to drive abit over the limit

this was on traffic cops a while back, thats the only reason i know it, and it may not be policy but its what the chap on the telly said.

I think they are allowed to do so, even without flashing lights and sirens, could be wrong though.

Because they used their better judgment as to the way that they should behave in that circumstance? I much prefer it when they have that outlook, rather than the rules is the rules.

What's your beef or are you always an abusive arse. A light hearted comment gets responses like this?

No beef, I'm generally an arse, sometimes abusive but you haven't had that. It's not light-hearted though, (I believe I was right with self-righteous prat so I'll stick with that) it's some self-righteous prat climbing up on their high horse because some pigs dared to drive within acceptable (albeit outside legal) limits. Boo hoo.

Why this. It is nearly impossible on this site now to post anything without abuse, I don't even understand this one?

What was meant as a light hearted comment on my drive home has opened up random abuse, slightly bemused about it all.
