Desiel tuning VS petrol tuning

I know about how to tune a petrol car and all the different things you can do to extract more power out of it, but im unsure on how to tune a desiel car.

I know you can remap them an stick a turbo/supercharger on it but other than that what can you do to a desiel car?

Decat exhaust, intake, uprate jets? Theres loads of options if you have the mon.

So I oould do say, forged pistons an uprated lightened rods, remap, air filter, lightened flywheel (not sure as they have DMF on desiels) exhaust.


short of a rebore an bigger pistons I dont really know what else you can do with a desiel.

You can fit an SMF to a diesel though they are prone to chattering loudly.

The basic principles must be the same; increase gas flow through the head and turn the fuel pump up. Bigger turbos, better intercooler, CAT, EGR delete etc.
