My next door neighbour has (had?) a smart Alfa GT in gunmetal grey and tan leather. Now, his wife is a bit of card carrying Guardian reading battle axe and yesterday a really hideous camper van turned up and the Alfa's gone.

So, (we can't do irony or sarcasm on here, I'm learning that after 800 posts) it looks like he's sacrificed his nice motor to keep fatty battleaxe happy...

Me? I drive a Volvo estate and do as I'm told... To quote Chubby Brown:
"Any more crying and she'll make those beds herself!"

People in glass houses and all that. Why do you care? What business is it of yours? Maybe they just like camping.

Yep, the sarcasm/irony thing again...

I once wrote that I couldn't get out of junctions because I owned two Ferrari 599s... And got hammered!

Shall I hoist a huge cyber flag with 'I'm Joking' on it?

I was hoping this thread would be about the oily bits from a rusty V6 alfa being transplanted into a Doormobile = a camper with some performance.

How did you get so clued up on the inner workings of their marriage? Was it the listening device you have hidden in their bedroom?

I am VERY tempted to add a Porsche 2.2/2.4 flat 6 into our VW T2 camper smile

She lets me carry out my battleaxe fantasies on a Wednesday afternoon! Burns her bum on the lightbulb...

In my current job which entails driving anywhere between 6 and 9k a month, I see many broken down vehicles. You won't believe the number of Alfas and crappy camper vans I see.

I feel your choice is somewhat of a sideways move! smile
