What would you do after you experienced road rage?
Discussion
Driving along today and a silver 3 series convertible pulls out of a street infront of me.
We proceed along a nsl B road and we come to a roundabout we both wish to take the first exit.
The first exit brings us onto a dual carriage way with a 70mph limit. She instantly pulls to the outside lane for the roundabout thats more than a half mile down the road.
Naturally I undertake her nothing stupid driving within speed limits.
I notice her flashing at me, ah well I think learn to drive you boot.
anyway I join the motorway which is quite close and join a que of cars im doing around about 60 mph when I see her whooring it up on the outside lane. She pulls along side me and tries to drive into me. At this point I had to use the hard shoulder.
f
k this I think im not taking this I over take her once shes slowed down and instruct her to pull over at the next parking bay for some choice words. I signal in plenty of time and point to the parking bay serveral times. She then decides to over take me and cut me right off forcing me to slam my brakes on.
So I follow her for another half mile or so. Luckily enough there was a police van parked up at the roundabout. Amazing what luck i think the police when you need them.
we both do a 360 on the roundabout Im thinking shes going to pull in to tell the police her side of the story. But no she drives on.
Anyway I pull over and speak to the police man explain what I just typed and give him some of her reg.
He takes my details and says hes gonna drive around looking for her. He wonders why shes done this could be roadrage he explains or she might be drunk. Now this happened about 2 hours ago.
Ive not heard anything back but in the mean time ive went back to where she came out and found only two houses in that street (dead end) rather affluent area riding stables and lots of private ground. I chapped on the first house, (another bmw sat outside it with a double garage) no answer.
So what do I do now.
Find out if that car returns there and once I see it i know where she lives then tell police.
go round and have some choice words.
go round and knock her back doors in
or just leave it and be the bigger person.
pretty boring story really now ive typed it.
If only i had a can of red bull at hand

Would you have chased/followed if the driver was a guy?
Just forget it and get on with your life. One day you'll challenge a proper nutcase with a gun/knife etc and things might not turn out so well.
Isn't worth the risk or hassle.

There are many, MANY idiots on the road who make me see red but its over as quick as it happened and unless im sitting in a twisted wreak thanks to X Drivers actions a blast of the horn, a knuckle shake or the rotational finger to the side of the head and mouth the words 'are you mental' is all the closure i need.
I havhttp lowed guys to be honest guys never really seem to have a problem pulling over to disscuss their driving.
the last guy who cut me up then gave me the fingers pulled right in and instantly and said he was really sorry. the rage just went from me. kinda just laughed it off.
but too many women on the roads these days seem to think they can get away with murder.
I had a woman cut me up at a round about a few months ago whilst on the bike. when I waved my arms the air she took offensive to this and tried to drive her motor into my bike whilst a wane was sat in the front seat.
I guess I'll just leave it and go for an electric fag.

k all this glass celling pish and sexism. the next time a woman tries to kill me with her car I'm thumping her right up the hole.

You seem to encounter a lot of road rage, from men and women.
If only there were some common factor you could identify...
And I certainly can't understand why these damn women have a problem stopping when you instruct them so to do - do you have any thoughts on why that might be?
yup people sometimes pull out infront of you cause they never seen you purely because your on a bike. If only there were some common factor you could identify...
And I certainly can't understand why these damn women have a problem stopping when you instruct them so to do - do you have any thoughts on why that might be?
that or it might be the car a fiesta st with stripes. it seems to attract clowns to it.
to be fair if she is trying to drive into me at 70 I think I'm entitled to ask her to pull over.
I guess I should have been the adult and just ignored it.

come to think of it do you think it's acceptable to use your car as a weapon regardless of sex? If only there were some common factor you could identify...

from that post it seems like your almost siding with the woman.
she got pissed off for being undertaken. she had piss poor lane discipline what did she expect.
she never took offense to being undertaken by the merc.

..stuff about always following people for an argument...
You seem to have quite a few incidents? Don't take this the wrong way OP but I fear the other motorist may not always be 100% at fault.Time to chill out and drive in a more relaxed manner perhaps? Life is just to short to be arguing with people about driving standards.

I don't unless the give me a finger for pulling out infront of me etc. Time to chill out and drive in a more relaxed manner perhaps? Life is just to short to be arguing with people about driving standards.
a simple sorry and I'm fine and smile back.
god I've made a few in my driving career I instantly say sorry as I feel so embarrased.
something just snaps when someone cuts you up and gives you the fingers after you beep the horn though

) my strategy is to help them do whatever they are trying to, or go wherever they are trying to go, then leave a good space between them and me.This is to avoid death.
And there's no way I'd pull over for you, even if I'd cut you up and wanted to apologise - it's just not safe for women to do so.

Car as a weapon - of course not - but I have yet to encounter this and I've been driving for a while (and worse - riding horses on the roads). To date, everyone has been polite, kind, considerate and even friendly.from that post it seems like your almost siding with the woman.

I am not 'siding' with anyone - people die on the roads - it's not a competition to take sides on.
And 'instructing' a woman (or man) to pull over, following them to their house, etc all seems a little like a waste of energy/effort at best, and perhaps threatening at worst.
Life is happier if you just let these things go.
