Another Pagani Zonda!

764 Passione will be the last Zonda. Definitely. Probably. Maybe?

Horacio Pagani is a bit like your favourite grandparent; even when all the treats are supposedly gone, they continue to appear, as if by magic, until you're actually a bit sick of treats.

Rumours have surfaced that Pagani are working on the final ever Zonda (which the Cinque, 760 RS,Tricolore and the one made for Lewis Hamilton definitely, categorically were not, of course). Seemingly 7.3-litre AMG V12s continue to be found, despite not being produced anymore, and Pagani can incorporate the Zonda back into their build process despite Huayra production being underway.

Like previous extremely limited production Zondas, expect this car (to be called the 764 Passione) to be suitably, ahem, unique. Rumours suggest it will have pink brake calipers, pink script etched onto the valve covers and pink bodywork. Unique indeed. Surprisingly enough, no official pictures have yet emerged, the image supplied being what it could look like...

Mechanically, the Zonda 764 Passione is much more desirable. It will be based on the Zonda F chassis but with the engine upgrades of the 760 RS (effectively a road-going Zonda R) and mated to a manual gearbox. We can only guess at the price, but seeing as Lewis Hamilton is believed to have paid £1.6million for his car, a figure in that area is likely.

So, 760hp should make for a fitting swansong for the Zonda given it began life with 385, but hasn't that been said before?

The "bog standard" Zonda F was the pick of the bunch in my opinion.
If they'd put as much effort into the Highwire as tinkering with the special edition Zondas perhaps it would have looked better!

No Zonda is in any way a £1.6million car.

Why do people still keep falling for it? I know we all like to slate the Veyron, but it looks like a bargain compared to this and at least it has its own engine in the back.

The Veyron is just a technical achievement really.

The Zonda is just better, more special, more, er, unique. Particularly this one, but that aside.

the mega rich are always wanting something others can't have. Oddly the zonda F is the most common Zonda. But you get the feeling that Horatio is missing the point with this of diluting the existing zonda owners value by making a new one just for you if the price is right.

I hope that Pagani are able to maintain the ability to produce 'just one more' Zonda time and time again - As currently I am in no position to buy a brand new Zonda. But if ever i were in a situation to be able to spend in excess on £1.5Million on a car, Then a bespoke Zonda (irrespective of any other car Pagaini or anyone else are producing) would be my automobile of choice.

I imagine if one was a multi-millionaire it would be very hard to find something to covet or treasure. Buy an Enzo, sell the Enzo, buy a Veyron, sell the Veyron, move onto the next thing. But I imagine something like a bespoke Zonda with one’s name or initials attached officially to it, would be something to really covet, the car that never went up for sale, that was one day passed on to one’s Son, a real sentimental, personal, treasured possession.

Thats a very nice thought. Especially as the car would actually be driven if it was never intended to be sold. No worrying about re-sale values, how it should be

If I was spending £1.6m on the last Zonda, I think I'd put a clause in the contract stating that if they were to build another one, they should return £x. I love the Zonda, but this is getting a bit silly now.

Spot on not that i care much what billionaires spend their money on nor how they feel if they've been mislead by Mr Pagani into believing its the last one but i'd be pretty upset even if all it was to me was a customised toy which made up only a fraction of my collection
