What cars look great, and what look terrible in these colours?

Obviously the Ford GT40/GT look pretty good. Not sure it suits the Exige...

(Apologies if that's your car...) boxedin

Thoughts on other cars?

My wife won't let me do our front door or garage door in gulf colour. Fortunately, we're divorcing. Seems excessing, but I really would like a Gulf Racing Door. Never going to have a GT40 behind it, but hey ho!

The Kremer k8 spider- Le Mans 94 from memory- looked bloody awful as they changed the colours.

Otherwise, everything looks good in traditional Gulf colours- i'm sure that i have seen a lawnmower painted in them, and even that looked good

When I spotted the thread I was going to say the Exige is my favourite - but you quoted it. Want one!

There is a first gen focus near me that has the purple/green/gold flip paint you normally find on a TVR

The paint job must be worth more than the car itself

Image stolen from the TVR forum so does/did belong to somebody on here. Gorgeous car.

If that is your photo, I must have stood about 10 feet from you when it was taken- the same year that they had several others in JPS and silk cut livery? 2010 or 2009- beer blunts the memory

Edit, actually 2008 or 7, they were y last years in camping blu

IMHO there's 2 liveries that look good on anything - Gulf and the John Player Special black & gold.

I think that looks superb to be honest.

I'd love to see what a TVR T350 would look like in the gulf colours smile

Didn't TVR nick it off Nissan?

Gulf is overrated IMO. I mean, come on, would you wear blue with orange? Plus their petrol is always a massive rip-off.

I prefer Martini:

There's another Exige with Gulf colours (painted, not stickers) which a friend owned for a while, and in fact I almost bought.

That looked very good too yes

Did they? I have no idea other than the focus sporting these colours looks crap.

I think it's really quite sad having Gulf colours on a road car.

Keep it on the track.

All things look ace in Gulf or Martini livery. Medical fact.... Now, time to spray paint the cat.
