The car its lovely, I have the finance. I will be doing about 10k a year.

Heart says yes, it is up to you guys to remind me why this is a bad idea.

Please do your best

Just need to shift the Merc then. Advert going up when I get off the train.

I think you could have tried a bit harder to persuade me not to

Have you heard the noise? Don't do it, you'll floor it at every given moment and kill the planet.

You know it makes sense to buy a Citroen C1 instead. The fuel economy's better and you'll save a fortune. And think how much smaller your carbon footprint will be!

hehe

Performance cars of any description- from an Abarth 500 to a Veyron- are not "head" purchases. They're "heart" purchases. If you can afford it and you want it, why not? smile

Buy an Italian car? It'll rust and none of the electrics will work.

Plus it's flash so will get keyed, spat on and stolen within a week.

Also it'll make you happy, and no one really likes being happy - sustained misery is what we all prefer.

This is the strongest arguement against the car yet.

I don't understand these threads. Do you really want talked out of a car you want? If so, why? Or are they about group approval for buying it or something I've missed?

It's like starting a thread saying "I hate Audi A3s; I've got the money waiting and a test drive lined up. Tell me why I ought to buy this hated car."

Aside from that, I like Maserati a lot and if I had the money I'd buy one happy to accept the flaws and costs. I hope you enjoy it you buy it-lovely things. Go for it!

Why on earth do you need to be persuaded not to buy the car you want? Surely this way of thinking is completely back to front?

I think these threads are more of a "I'm pretty set on buying this, am I a colossal moron buying a dog of a model?" idea, rather than actually talking someone out of a great car.

He wants to announce to the PH community that he is going to buy an Italian thoroughbred and therefore confirm his status as true PHer, and be congratulated for it.

Personally, I'd be looking at a V10 M6 in Interlagos Blue.

Er...

Hmm....

It's likely to get keyed if you ever park it outside?

You will be worried every time you take it to a carpark owing to dents from careless drivers opening their doors into it.

That's about the only negative I can think of. Sorry smile

Have a good friend on here contemplating the same thing.
I will tell you the same thing as I told him.......
GET ONE BOUGHT!!!!!!

If you go into ownership with your eyes open, knowing what it will cost to run and aren't afraid of the occasional hefty bill you will LOVE it!! Beautiful and amazing sounding things that IMO drive very, very well.
