Car Key cutting wit no spare

Is it possible to get a key cut without a spare...original keys are lost and need some spare cutting but reluctant to go down the dealer route. Having the log book can another key be cut and easily?

Have a search for a mobile one, we have one that comes out and makes a key from the code on the barrel and codes it. Takes him an hour and hes not cheap though.

I was hoping having the log book you could nip into Timpson or similar and they would do the same trying to avoid big costs....not my car and the owner could do without a big bill!!!

Well no, thats never going to work is it. For a start you could just grab a log book and steal a car

Depending on the car and the dealer mobile ones might work out cheaper anyway, youre not going to get a key cut for £5 unless its a 30 year old escort.

We had this problem last year, and after some googling found in guy (in Australia) who cut a perfect key from 3 photographs. I can't remember who he was though, so this is pretty pointless. Apologies!

Its not a Ford style 'tibbe' key is it? (TVR) as these can be cut by any dealer IF you have the key code.
