After defending the virtues of the Porsche Cayman as the best compromise between GT and sports car (with the engine in the right place) to people who dismiss it as the poor man's 911, the local dealership are offering a reasonable monthly rate on a 911 Carrera...

Worth waiting for the new Cayman S with its electronic steering and lack of a proper handbrake, or call myself Judas and plump for the 911? (With its electronic steering and lack of a proper handbrake).

Essential options? The current Cayman S has all the right bits- Manual gearbox, LSD, shortshifter, sport design wheels, Bose sound system etc.

I dunno, which one do you want?

I'd want the Cayman, based on not having driven either car. HTH.

Oh.

I think either will seem comparitively fantastic.

Your decision, but I'd go for the Cayman.

I'd take either the new Cayman (whenever it's released) or nearly new Cayman R, the sub GT3/Turbo 911's just don't really do anything for me

I know I'm not answering your question, but if you're concerned about driving, handling etc, why not consider a GTS or GT3? Likely to hold their value better also.
