Not a Porsche. Must be a 2 seater. New rather than used and must be reasonably civilised and have enough luggage room for a long weekend. Ideas?

Done in the first two posts! If new, an F-Type. If used, that Aston or a similar V8 Vantage, as £50k gets you the pick of the crop these days.

Surprised no-one's mentioned Exige V6 yet. [Yes, the roof is easily removed]

But you're not doing yourself any favours by ruling out the great new Boxster S. Best car in that category by a distance.

We've been away for plenty of long weekends in an Elise. I suppose "reasonably civilised" is a rather personal thing, though.

However the bigger problem is that as far as I know you can't buy one for 50k.

Why not the Boxster? Do you purposely not want the best open top 2 seat sports car available today? Seems a little odd
