I would put your shoes in the owner. This guy has spent tons on modding his car, so he's simply going to swap it for something else because he wants a comfortable cruiser? Why doesn't he buy a cheap shed? Surely even a peasant-spec supermini like a 106 would be more comfortable?
There must be something about his car that he doesn't like, or is fed up with, that makes him want to be willing to swap.
just thinking about the other side of things.

I have been trying to sell the XKR for a few months and have only had 3 serious enquiries. I priced it at £7k, £6.5k and then £6k, which I think is very cheap. It is in above average condition, 86k miles and FSH.
If you've been trying to sell it for a few months, then it's not "very cheap".It's only worth what someone will pay, and from what you've said, it's not worth what you're asking.

How will it look to potential buyers of the Skyline when they see you are selling it as soon as you got it?
Its all well and good being honest and saying you took it in part ex, but personally if a seller said that to me it would put me off.
You may as well stick with what you've already got and sell that.
If he wants your Jag that much, tell him to sell the Skyline and buy it
