OK,
so, I've recently bought an '09 Overfinch Range Rover vogue. It is very nice, and will do the job that I've bought it for, ie using for commuting to meetings, safe, fast comfy motorway driving. It is definately a Maverick, as it is clearly different to an ordinary Vogue.
However, I've seen a Bentley Continental GT Mulliner, that's been wrapped in semi matt black, with with anthracite wheels, and after driving it, I am sorely tempted to swap the Overfinch! The Bentley is Beluga black under the wrap, with piano black and black interior, so when I'm bored with the matt colour, I can take it off!
I have 2 questions for the distinguished members of this forum!
I am a young 40, that doesn't want to look like I'm driving my dad's car.... is the Bentley 'too old' for me?!
Turning upto meetings in either the Overfinch or the Bentley...what are my clients going to think?
I had no idea that the Continental GT drove so well, hence why I am now tempted!
Please help!!

Nice dilemma to be pondering on a sunday morning.

In my mind, I'd have the Bentley. But the Overfinch does have that 'something' about it.

What will your clients think? They probably won't understand the Matt Black, but in the normal metallic black they will appreciate it I'm sure.

I expect most people will see the Overfinch and think its nothing more than a standard RR TBH.

you're more likely to look like you're driving your son's car...if your son is a footballer. Bentleys of that type have no class associated with them anymore. An Overfinch still has a shred.

Neither would be my choice, but between the two I think I'd stick with the Overfinch.

I ran a Flying Spur for a while and did get some comments along the lines of 'I'll have to re-negotiate my fees with you!'. I then got a Vogue and nobody batted an eyelid.

Your clients will think you are charging too much.......

If you want the Bentley then I'd be getting a less ostentatious vehicle as well to use for client meetings and keep the Bentley for your weekend use..

Really?

I'd always got Overfinches pegged as being almost certainly a footballer or their missus

Bentleys OTOH you see enough about that they cannot all be footballers.

Meh, it's all personal opinion, eh? I just think Bentley's stock has been seriously damaged by association, but then I'm not a fan of the modern ideals of 'celebrity culture'.

Agree'd, neither for me but the Overfinch admitedly would be special , bentleys just have no style or class at all for me, part because of the footballer image but mostly because they are so ugly.

I like Bentleys but not with a chavvy matt black wrap. However, the danger is that when you drive them fast or aggressively - even slightly - people will automatically brand you an ostentatious tw*t.

If it had been a Kahn I`d have said get rid!

I love the older Bentley`s, still look like proper "old money" cars.
Continental not so much...
I think the Overfinch will give a better impression, Bentley a bit "blingy".

There are about 600 premiership footballers, and roughly 700 in the Championship.

Bentley have sold 4000 GTs a year in the UK for a decade.

It is a tricky one! The Overfinch is quite an understated one....didn't want one too blingy or too drug dealery, the Bentley's looks are on the subtle side too....here are pics of both!

I'm not sure about the wheels on the Bentley. I think they're a bit too much! I have the option of a set of Continental Sport GT multispokes which are better.

BTW, I don't 'need' the Overfinch for towing!! haha.
