Never thought, i'd find a cool, unloved car. But the other day i was riding through the lanes when i saw the nose of one of these pointing out under a thick layer of dust and boxes in a crammed garage.

Even before i went back i knew, it'd be too much for me to take on, with only very basic car mechanical knowledge ect. So i got hold of my mate who has been lusting after an rx for months.

We went up there, they were pretty friendly, and let us have a look around it.

Its immaculate with no rust, 55'000km, was mot'd and was running before it was stored over 2 years ago, only gay thing is that its auto. It was only taken off the road because the wife was just using it as a shopping trolley and it scared her when she drove it in the wet. Turns out the guy wants to get rid, he said he'd take offers on £1k.

What a bargain, so happy for my mate....can't wait to blow it up!

Will get picts in the week when the deal is confirmed.

Any one else found any awesome cars, just by luck?

I wouldn't want it in auto guise, Surely they are quite dangerous with that combination, if they are anything like the early supra turbo i had. Kick down and turbo kicking in = death on any corner and possibly some straights lol

Plan is a manual conversion, another mate in the same circle, has a blown manual rx7 with loads of toys, decent suspension, plate diff, wheels. So there is a possibility of using those bits on this good shell.

Nice one.
I was actually in the opposite position to you in that i had neglected my old TVR Tasmin and just let it stand in all weathers in my back yard while enjoyed my Chimaera.
I felt bad about it but it had a few jobs that needed doing and I simply preferred to focus on the Chimaera and later a Tuscan.
In the end I posted in the PH TVR section - "free Tasmin".
It wasn't worth much anyway and I wanted it go to another enthusiast.
Wife was happy it was out of the way.

So, went with my mate yesturday to have an in depth look at the car, including removing the plugs and using a boroscope to look at the rotor tips.

Everything went well, topped it up with oil, with a charged battery in it, it started straight off.

So yeh, he got it for under asking price. smile
