Anyone any idea roughly how much it would cost to have a car transported from Glasgow to Leicester. It's about 350 miles?

Or failing that, where could I hire a self drive transporter in the east midlands?

Many thanks.

£1.30 per mile plus VAT is what we would charge. I advertise in the classifieds if you'd like a firm quote.

I could have brought this back, I went Aberdeen on Friday to collect a car is wasn't what I expected so came back empty, you could have saved me or at least covered the cost of fuel.

Try liftshare.com or get your arse on a megabus! Leicester Fosse Park to Glasgow Buchanan bus station, £21.

Liftshare has a lot of outdated requests and offers on there so beware of that, but I used it successfully yesterday Leeds to Exeter and picked up a kid from Sheffield going to Bristol Patchway who happily paid £20 towards the fuel costs. Unfortunately my journey share for the return couldn't make it in the end, but you can't win them all.

Getting a car transported/trailered when it is roadworthy makes no financial sense whatsoever and you'll quickly see this in the quotes you get back on Shiply.

Well, £21 and a bit of alarm setting, or no alarm setting and minimum £300+ for someone to trailer it to you? You pays your monies as they say...

Is this something that needs to be done right away. I'm due to be working in Glasgow next month, planning on flying up. I could happily drive it back for the cost of fuel and meals. I live in Coalville. smile
