Looks to me like a lower track control arm of something early to mid 70's MK1/2 Escort?

Good thinking, I hadn’t considered the possibility that it was a track control arm. I’ve been trawling google images and whilst the ford ones do look similar they all have an ‘H’-shaped cross-section, whereas the one I need to replace has a ‘+’-shaped cross-section.
The background is this part is used as a top link on my Caterham 7 which I bent at the weekend, Caterham parts want £55 each for them but I refuse to believe that it’s a Caterham-bespoke part and I reckon it’ll be about £20 if I can figure out which make/model donated it!

Thanks for that TLP- that's a bummer, but at least I know now. I try to identify every part before I buy it from caterham because 75% of the time it's a part used in a 60's/70's/80's british or Ford car!
