Thanks to everyone for their advice. Just for info, I spoke with most of the mechanics mentioned. The only on who did not reply was K&L Autos, although I sent him all the info he asked for - my view is that if you don't want to do the job just say so, no biggie.

Anyway, I am thinking of getting an in and out from Day & white at Brands Hatch. Any alarm bells from anyone. Seems a good price and seem helpful people.

I am getting it fixed because where are you going to get a car with the same spec as an Alfa 166, superlusso, 3ltre V6 for even a couple of thousand?
